Who I am

My name is Carol Cowan.  I have set up this website to provide links to the information I use when writing letters to the newspaper, thus making it easier for people to access the resources I have quoted or from which I have gleaned information.  There is a limit to how much I can present in 250 words, so I am hoping these links will prove useful to those who want to know more about global warming and the ensuing climate change.

Why 360?

350 parts per million is the level of atmospheric Carbon Dioxide estimated to give us the climatic conditions we have been used to on Earth.  The current level is over 392 parts per million.  To avoid catastrophic climate change we must reduce the amount of fossil fuels (coal and petroleum products) that we are burning  When I created my website name I made a mistake and put 360 instead of 350, I'm leaving it to remind myself of human frailty.

A Note About the Dates Below

The date alongside each reply refers to the date the person's letter was published, until my reply is published and then I will change the date to match the date of my letter.

Why do I reference skepticalscience.com so frequently?

John Cook, producer of skepticalscience.com has proven to be a careful researcher of climate change peer-reviewed studies.  He is able to put the science into layman's terms and always provides links to the actual papers under discussion.  There is a wealth of information at his site and it is particularly useful for those who are unsure of the veracity of what  is claimed by so-called skeptics.
